For me, having lived in a state that has no access to the sea, it was very difficult to distinguish and to memorize the names of the fish in English and in Japanese. It was a double whammy.

Many of us are familiar with fish we have eaten or at least have seen for sale in the supermarket. Of those fish that are regularly offered, how many can you name in English?

1. マグロ
2. カツオ
3. ブリ
4. サバ
5. サンマ
6. イワシ
7. アジ
8. タラ
9. ホッケ
10. ヒラメ　OR　カレイ

I'm sure there are many more, but I wanted to keep this list to 10 fish. How many were you able to name?
